2015 Bamboo Road cyclists speak out.

Morning in Cambodia

Read on for rider comments from the Bamboo Road bicycle expedition:

“The trip was amazing. I enjoyed the tour and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. Relax, enjoy and take it all in. Food is great and the scenery is outstanding” – Michael Doucet (Canada)

Sunscreens

“The tour was tremendous fun, very well organised and passed through some beautiful and interesting areas. At times the days in the saddle can feel quite long and tough but the sense of achievement is all the greater when finally arriving at the hotel. If you like cycling and enjoy travelling – you’ll love it!” – Patsy Howe (United Kingdom)

Danie jelps put in the kitchen

“Puts an amazing perspective on a country. You’ll truly get to experience the sights smells and sounds. And most importantly, the people.” – Greg Roberts (Australia)

Mountain view

“An amazing and powerful experience. Go with curiosity and an open mind and you will be blown away by astonishing cities, gorgeous scenery, great and sometimes weird food, warm hospitality, wealth and poverty, many surprises.” – Louise Sims (Canada)

Final convoy briefing

“The field staff were without exception fantastic. All were kind, helpful and very willing to go way beyond their usual duties. The scenery is amazing. I would go back to many many places in a heartbeat. So, so interesting!” – Richard Russek (Canada)

Monks & bikes

“Overall an amazing experience. If you have a taste for adventure, are not precious or want everything handed to you on a plate, and like the freedom to see a continent at your own pace but with wonderful support, then this is the tour for you. You see a great variety with regular breaks and it is very achievable – if I managed EFI then anyone can!” – Elizabeth Rooke (United Kingdom)

Boat in Ha Long Bay

“Structured adventure and back-up security if needed. Great challenging and very well organized. You will have the freedom to ride as you like – and still enjoy the infrastructure and security when needed. You can explore areas you never would be able to on a regular tourist trip. Ride the bike and enjoy every minute!” – Par Akesson (Sweden)

Karen riding in bamboo

“Fantastically well organized with brilliant staff who went beyond the call of duty to ensure everyone enjoyed the experience” – Patsy Howe (United Kingdom)

The ‘is it possible for us’ question was resolved in 2014 when my wife and I successfully cycled Lands End to John O’Groats. Bamboo Road 2015 was not only possible, we did it from beginning to end and we loved it. How much? We were back for more with TDA in 2016 riding part of the Odyssey.
