Fortunately there are a good number of 4WD’s travelling along the road and a few station homesteads who will supply water for drinking since it will not be possible to carry enough. Otherwise you need to be fully self sufficient.
We drove this road recently from east to west and there was a Nederland couple cycling together and a single lady riding some 50 km behind them. This would have to be one of the roughest gravel roads we have travelled in all of outback travels. I take my hat off to them.
On the plus side for this particular stretch of The Savannah Way we encountered no roadtrains.
