COVID-19: What You Need to Know

Since restarting our tours in September 2021, we have offered enhanced payment flexibility as well as enhanced safety and hygiene measures. Please read the latest COVID-19 information as it relates to our cycling tours below.

Relaxed Payment Terms

The more flexible payment options below were added to make deciding and committing to a tour easier for you, while still giving us the clarity needed to plan our tours.

One-time Registration Fee Transfers

The $150 USD tour registration fee can be transferred once, to another tour of your choosing, 90 days or more before the start date of the original tour you have registered for.

Relaxed Payment Terms

If TDA cancels a tour 90 days or more before the start date, you will receive a 100% refund of the registration and entry fee paid.

In the rare event TDA cancels a tour less than 90 days before the start date, you will receive a 100% credit of the registration fee and entry fee which can be used towards a future tour. If you prefer a refund, you will be refunded the registration fee in full, and the entry fee minus any unrecoverable tour costs TDA has incurred.

If you choose to cancel after your full payment of the entry fee has been made, our standard cancelation/refund policy applies.

Our customer service team is ready to answer any questions you may have about payment terms, or planning for your upcoming tour with us.

Safety & Hygiene

The health and safety of our participants, staff and the local communities passed through is at the forefront of our planning. Below are some of the enhanced features now built into all of our tours.

Our Safety Protocols

The existence of COVID-19 adds a number of new safety protocols to our current practices, and though we cannot eliminate all risk, we can greatly reduce it through setting vaccination, hygiene and mask protocols.

While our safety protocols are definitely part of a “new normal”, the joy of being out on the road, cycling each day and seeing new locales is well worth the necessary adaptations.

These protocols continue to be reviewed and adjusted based on local health regulations and accepted best practices. Click here to read an overview of the new COVID-19 Safety Protocols. Further detailed information will be provided pre-tour to registered riders.

Vaccination

Full vaccination with an approved COVID-19 vaccine is required for participation on all our tours. This is to increase safety for yourself, all fellow participants and staff, as well as the local populations along the route. Many countries also require proof of vaccination for entry purposes.

Thanks for the information.

Best preparation for the virus is cycling!

Thanks. I was wondering how TDA going to respond to coronavirus and this pretty much answers my questions.

Thank you for your ethical and positive communication. I am so looking forward to travelling with you soon.

A great idea and this initiative will help many decide.

Thanks for the info, still want to do the west Africa en velo so we’ll see how it goes

yes

Thank you for the information and your flexibility in all this.

South African government has announced the country will open for “limited Level 1” international tourism on October 1. Can you give us any indication of what other countries need to open yet so that 2021 Tour d’Afrique can proceed? Is it likely that other countries especially in Southern Africa will follow SA’s lead?

The tour also runs through Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana & South Africa so those countries would also have to be open to run the tour. At this point it is impossible to predict what the other countries will do but we remain guardedly optimistic.

Is this a ride or race???

All our tours are rides, not races. Was there one you were interested in?

Are you still planning on offering the Trans Himalayas tour in 2021? Or when you will make a decision? Thank you.

As a USA resident, I can’t predict if I will be able to enter the countries that are included in the TransEuropa tour, so it is hard for me to plan. I very much want to do the ride, but am concerned about restrictions. What do you recommend?

Hi Melissa, We would love to have you join us. You can register for the tour secure in the knowledge that your registration fee is transferable if you decide not to attend and refundable if we cancel the tour. We also provide registered riders with ongoing updates regarding the status of the trip.

Hi, can you please explain what is meant by transferable? I’m not sure I understand. Thank you.

Hi Deborah, Transferable means you can use your registration fee that you paid for one tour on another tour if you change your mind (one time only).

Hello, my boyfriend and I would love to join the South American Epic tour but we live in the UK . Do you think we would still be able to do it in Jul 2021 or is 2022 more realistic?

Its exciting even just thinking about it.

Thank you
Mira

Is the Canada coast to coast trip on this year – 2021? Thanks

We certainly hope so! Please contact us at eva@tdaglobalcycling.com for more details.

I honestly think there is a disconnect between what is currently happening in Canada as we are entering a 3rd wave infections, just beginning vaccinations, and still have lots of restrictions for residents with the desire to travel. 2022 would be a better choice.

I‘m fully vacinated (2x) with certificat.

I think booster shot seems to work and should be required
