Anyone have any pointers for an American from New England taking the challenge……………I’m a road racer, been on a couple of semi-pro teams in my younger days but still train pretty hard year round dealing with the tough Rhode Island weather. Will be 70 next year but so what, right? Hope to hear some info about what to expect…………..cheers, Stephen Zielinski.

With Covid lockdown we are currently restricted in Sydney to 10 kilometres from our home , and also remaining in our LGA – Local Government Area, so by that rate it would take years to ride from Darwin to Adelaide, let alone around to Melbourne or Sydney. It is a big country – after all. Best wishes from Downunder.

David and I have ridden the Stuart Highway from Alice Springs to Port Augusta and then inland to Adelaide. Thinking of a little tour from Darwin to Broome (or vice versa depending on the winds) in the meantime.

Hope to see some TDA riders next time the Trans-Oceania trip is on, or if anyone is in our lovely island state. Bring your mountain bikes!!

but the times are a changing and crossing state boarders is becoming more difficult especially for old timers (75+) who still have the guts to get out onto the Stuart Hwy and brave the dust road trains and migrating wildlife. its a challenge
but then getting on a bike for the first time is like walking right? one needs to always regain/maintain their balance in life ! so come on down and enjoy the wonders of the great southern land were we don’t shoot anyone who disagrees with us for we worship ‘fairness’ over perverted freedom/right to blow your head off if you don’t agree .. so come on down and say g’day !
