Bush camp to Bush camp

Cycling for 170 kilometers with a powerful headwind, most of the riders sat in the saddle for between six and nine hours today. The helpful tailwind from yesterday did a complete turn about and all day long, howled straight into us. Tonight there are a lot of sore butts and muscles around the fire. The only good thing about this day was the cool temperature and the hot Chicken a la King for dinner. Jack is the winner of the day and that makes it six in a row for him. Kim chose to sit one day out yesterday as an old back injury forced him to take a detour via the chiropractor in Windhoek. Apart from fatigue, especially from the new sectional riders, most cyclists are in good health.

As far as documenting the tour goes. I spent the day chasing bicycles up and down the road in a land cruiser with Theresa bouncing around on the roof shooting the cyclists with her video camera. Randy, who is normally our tour leader, displayed his multi-tasking skills by alternating between dangling out the car window taking photos at high speed and stopping only to beat out a rhythm on the bonnet with his drum. I wonder if our life insurance will cover us if we are bumped of the roof of the land cruiser by a low flying plane and/or other cyclist shooting related injuries.
