American excited to explore more. Biking has been a great activity to build community and challenge myself. I really enjoy traveling with my spouse, especially to international destinations. Favorite activities include hiking, road and mountain biking. Enjoy American football and a forever hopeful Badgers fan. Let's grind.

After about 25 year hiatus, I got back into cycling in 2014 and have been ridden over 70,000 miles since. My longest trip was in 2019 riding from Santa Barbara CA to Myrtle Beach SC totaling 3400 miles and 7 weeks. In 2023, I bicycled 1350 miles from Madison WI to Portland ME. In 2025, I cycled 1100 miles from Savanah GA to New Orleans LA self-supported. I have also done about twenty 1 or 2 week trips with 5 of them outside the USA. The Orient Express will be my first long trip abroad. I love the rhythm and simplicity of long bike trips: eat, bike, sleep, repeat. I'm looking forward to cycling across Europe and making new friends.

Retired American expat living in Germany. Rode the Tour d'Afrique in '23 and Silk Route in '25. Looking forward to another adventure with friends old and new. Also hoping to finally answer the question I seem to always ask myself at various points during one of these tours: What the xyz#! am I doing here?

I really enjoyed the great crews and fabulous riders on the Bamboo Road, Morocco: Kingdom of the West, the part of Trans-Himalaya we were able to ride, and Road to Valhalla. So, I very much look forward to the next TDA adventure!

Solo riders will be paired with another rider of the same gender at no additional charge. Accommodation the night before first cycling day and the night of last cycling day are included in entry fee. We advise booking at least 1 additional night at tour accommodation before the tour, to be able to attend rider briefing and have assistance from tour bike mechanic in setting up your bike.
