I'm 65 years old and look it. I love to bike, meet new people, and see the sights. I like the TDA format a great deal as you get enough support, but lots of opportunities to mingle with the locals. I am looking forward to this ride and meeting everyone.

TDA allows me to go to off-the-beaten-track parts of the world at just the right pace, on a bike - with my camera. For me it's a great combination of being active, exploring new places and taking photographs. Can't think of a better way of spending these years of my life - which the word 'retirement' doesn't seem to describe very well.

My husband, Greg Taylor, and I are excited to join our first TDA tour, and to meet and share laughs and stories with other riders along the way. We have participated in quite a few supported and self-supported tours over the years, including within and across Canada, across France, and a number of USA destinations like the Pacific Coast route. With its diverse terrain, cultures and history, the Odyssey Tour should be a wonderful adventure. Looking forward to meeting each of you in May 2017!

I am an avid sailor, runner, and cyclist whose passions are inconvenienced by having to work to pay for them. This will be the fourth longer distance tour my wife - Janice Dickie - and I have completed. The others being across France, from our home in BC to San Francisco, and through PEI, Acadia and Quebec in eastern Canada. I am excited to hear others find a riding day incomplete without a beer to top it off.

Have been bike touring since about 2007 through Tasmania, New Zealand, Thailand, Israel, Africa, Costa Rica, parts of Mexico, India and Sri Lanka and most of Europe except those cold northern areas. And I did a self-supported ride to China, via Macau in 1983, now that was an adventure... My "affair" with the TdA family began with the Africa trip in 2012. Then the inaugural French Connection tour in 2016, 2017 The Odyssey. Fabulous group, exciting hill climbs, rugged/raw scenery and the tour leaders & staff, exceptional. 2018 Pub Ride 2, a fun trip with lots of laughs and and great hills in the Yorkshire Moors. 2019 The Hippie Trail and best tour for diversity, contradiction, colour, food and, and, and excitement. I enjoy travelling with like-minded people from all parts of the world, indulging in a cold beer or two when it's hot, or cold but especially after a great day in the saddle. Just love the life on the road.

I have been an avid cyclist all my life and have done many tours on both road and mountain bikes. Cycling is simply the best way to travel through country, for it lends itself to a relaxed and visceral connection to the land and its people. I am a retired Emergency Physician and have done the Trans Europa, Odyssey, Pub Ride, and NAE tours previously with TDA.

I am 72, a retired emergency physician, married since 1973, three children and five grand children, living north of Seattle on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Travel highlights: half year backpacking and tent camping in East Africa and South America, four weeks trekking in Nepal, half year living in Andalusia, Camino de Santiago on mountain bike, road bike trips from Seattle to Bath, Maine, Natchez Trace, Seattle to San Francisco via Oregon Coast, TDA Transeuropa, TDA Odyssey, TDA North American Epic (Banff to Yuma), mountain bike trips in Northern Rockies, around Moab, and various rides around California and Washington with friends, bike clubs or solo. I've summited the volcanic peaks in the Cascades as well as Mt Whitney. Besides hiking and biking I like windsurfing and skiing. I can say a few things in Spanish or Russian.
