Chaos Crossing the Aswan Dam

Aswan to desert camp. Chaotic start crossing the great dam that transformed Egypt politically and economically in the 1950s. At least 20 security vehicles, all the traffic in town gridlocked, us and the Egyptian racers stopping on the dam to sneak in snapshots of each other.

First on the day was Steve Topham in 3 hrs 17 mins for 100 km, including the snapshots. Scotty Robinson was next in 3 hrs 20 mins, followed 1 min later by Jeremy Wex, Sascha Hartl and David Genders (Great Britain). A nice day in the desert.
