Blown Off the Road

Well, the head wind from yesterday continued on into the night and this morning was cranking so much that a few of the racers and expedition riders were blown off the road as they left Alfons Camp. A long, hot tough slog today especially with the nasty wind continuing throughout. The riders have a bit of “destinationitis” as most slogged on to camp this afternoon… a few stopping to have an afternoon siesta and cold coke at the petrol station down the road form the campsite. Tomorrow we cross the border into Ethiopia and what the riders are looking forward to the most… is not the hills and the greenery but a cold beer on the other side!!
