Janet Back to Top Form

An early start marked our departure from the Bridge Camp on the Luangwa River as riders packed up their campsites to the strains of “Supertramp” at 5am this morning (thankfully no one was eaten by any crocodiles). Ahead was a 128km day that began with a 35km climb then rolling hills all the way to the bush camp this evening. The clouds were hanging around making for a cool start which the riders enjoyed and thankfully the road wasn’t to busy and the locals were as cheery as ever. Chris and Adrie were in good form, if not a little bit relaxed throughout the day with Adrie taking out line honours in the sprint finish and we welcomed back Janet to great form as she devoured the hills to win the women’s stage today from Eva. A delicious meal from Miles and a shower at the local bore marks the end of a long riding week for everyone as we head into the city of Lusaka to enjoy a rest day that is well deserved and much needed!
