A New Cycling Film to Inspire You to Travel by Bike

Ever since I started TDA Global Cycling 15 years ago, most people who meet me assume that cycling is my passion, and that I have made that passion into a business. But this is not the case. My passion, if I have one, is seeing the world – experiencing new things, exposing myself to different cultures, wondering what’s around the corner. I am the type who would see a hill and say, “Let’s go to the top and take a look!”

A year ago, when my 91 year old mother fell sick, I was on the train to Montreal and started wondering about my life and why I do what I do. Will I have regrets when I am old and sick in bed?

A little while before that, my friend and TDA alumnus David Houghton sent me a video produced by Alain de Botton’s ‘School of life’ called ‘The Pleasures of the Road’. So I thought, “If I wanted to make a short movie, what would it be?” An hour later, I had a script! I forwarded it to Jacob Warner (who also produced Cycling the Silk Route), and here is the result. Watch it and I hope you will enjoy it.

Great work guys!! Very inspirational! You are making it tough to continue sitting at my desk and working 🙂

Love the movie, speaks from my heart, exactly what I feel on these biketours and rides. Thank you Henry for putting into words what we experience.

Great video, great thoughts, great voice production and great scenery. WONDERFUL.
Small critique is that is so often the case, at times the back ground music is so loud almost obliterating the voice message.
Well done Henry and Shanny and all those connected to the production!
Our only regret is that our age now limits our cycling to bike paths and city streets. But we are happy and satisfied that we are able physically and mentally continue to do “tours”.

The English subtitles didn’t work – visually beautiful though.

Beautiful made and very inspirational. I am stoked.

that’s right another fricken hill !

Beyond Amazing! A phenomenal and thought provoking film! Thank You!
