Episode 11 of TDA Talks with Jen Reid

As the medic the rewarding thing for me is watching the riders achieving things that they didn’t think they could do and really overcoming injuries and mental challenges.

In episode 11 of TDA Talks we chat with Jen Reid. After a day of work at her hospital in the Scottish borders, she kindly recalled some favourite memories, and – maybe more importantly  – she provided some tips for riders on how to prepare for a long cycling tour, and what sort of common ailments to expect on a tour such as the Tour d’Afrique. If you aspire to be an expedition medic someday, she also shared some really valuable insights on that subject.

Our TDA Talks series continues. If you know someone that Shanny should interview for his next episode, please let us know in the comments below. We seek out cycle touring tips for our TDA community. Each episode lasts just over 15 minutes and we share a new one every month in our newsletter and here on our blog. You can see our playlist of the first 10 episodes here on YouTube and hope you enjoy episode 11!
