Olive Route Rider Reviews: “A Magical Route That Is Sure To Become A TDA Classic!”
In April of this year, a group of cyclists headed off from Athens on the inaugural Olive Route Cycling Tour, bound for Lisbon and passing through Greece, Italy, France Spain & Portugal. As the pedalled away from the Acropolis, they could only imagine what experiences the next couple of months were going to bring…now we know.
Registration for the 2027 Olive Route Cycling Tour is now open.Â

“Doug and Gergo get a gold star for curating this route. Michael gets a gold star for coming up with it in the first place. Has to be one of TDA’s best tours for consistent gorgeous rides everyday with very diverse scenery.” – Corinne Burt (USA)

“Thanks to the entire TDA team for the impeccable infrastructure, manicured routing, yummy road side lunches, countless laughters and good humour… in other words: Eat, Sleep, Ride repeat – for everything else there is the fabulous TDA Team. Many thanks to all of my fellow riders for the inspiration, mid – ride chats, coffee & coke stop fun, their wheels, encouragement and good times on and off the bike. One of the best trips I’ve done by bike and certainly not my last TDA adventure.” – Daniela Hohme (Germany)

“The Olive Route was a great ride with a well selected route across the five countries which I enjoyed immensely .The rest day locations were always well chosen allowing us to explore and enjoy these well known tourist spots. The accommodation and meals provided had us feeling we were on a 5 Star Luxury Gourmet Tour.” – Brett Lanham (Australia)

“This was a movable feast through five culinary jewels of Europe. Greece. Italy. France. Spain. Portugal. An embarrassment of riches – the views, the routes, the people along the way, the wine, and as Oliver and Poorhouse boys sang, the food, the glorious food. Every pedal cycle earned another bite.” – Britton Morrell (USA)

“Exceptional cycling off the beaten track. Great way to see the world and to travel with kindred spirits.” – Anne Thompson (USA)

“An adventurous, challenging route tailor made for intrepid cyclists who enjoy roads and routes decidedly less travelled. A masterful cycling route across 5 European countries linking fascinating cities and towns well off the main tourist route where every day is a new adventure. A true feast for the mind, body and soul. Many folks have cycled across Europe, but very few have cycled so far off the beaten path that it was not uncommon to go 2-3 hours without seeing one vehicle.. Gergo and team have weaved together a magical route that is sure to become a TDA classic.” – Chris Wille (Canada)

“Wonderful experience!! From the crew, meals, organization- everything was first rate.” – Jeff Melichar (USA)

“We only did Milan to Bordeaux, as first timers and not knowing what to expect I was surprised that I didn’t sit in the van as much as I initially expected I would. This was partly due to the encouragement from other riders and the staff. The longer rides were more challenging and took a long time to complete but knowing that the support was always there made it achievable. The overall experience will not be forgotten, however the locations and hotel stays will become a blur. Thanks for the adventure.” – Cathie Smith-Friedman (Canada)
