A Poem
Ethiopia, land of contrasts Few roads link major centresTerraced fields and distant villages are linked by only footpaths The road to Lallibela curves along a steep mountain ridge
Villagers on opposite sides will never meet as no footpaths cross the steep terrain
People are beautiful, a wave brings a smile Donkeys and women carry heavy loads on long treksMany children ask for money, or throw stones as we bike past Scenic geography, mountains rolling hills, fertile plains
All arable land is farmed, or overgrazed With 6.1 children per woman, unless Ethiopia undergoes a major demographic change, this country is on the brink of a humanitarian crisisForeign aid cannot solve all problems
We live in a world defined by our physical, mental and spiritual boundaries Our private cocoonOn this journey, we meet fellow humans whose cocoon does not overlap ours In any dimension
An experience in real diversity
