Tempers Are Rising

Tempers are rising as riders are starting to feel the exhaustion set in. Lake Malawi has been the backdrop for the last 9 days providing us with nice campsites on the lake. Fear of Bilharzia has kept some riders from swimming in this beautiful lake. Of course this disease caused by a little snail can only be found in the quiet parts of the lake not on the wave swept beaches we have encountered.

The general feeling at camp is that we are all feeling that the tour is almost over with only 5 weeks to go. However, with more than 3500 km to go one third is still before us. The race results are finally committed to an excel spreadsheet. Most riders are now eagerly checking their times each day to see how hard they have to ride in order to gain position or maintain their current standing. We will post the results at our next Internet access point.

Trying to get some rest now.
