Chinese Scenes

Today, a tail wind graced us with its presence! Even the most cynical of our dear riders were happy with the ride, especially after lunch!!! The Tian Shan mountains rose up to our right as they have for the last little while; snow covered peaks glinting in the bright sunshine. We have a mountain range on one side and a proper desert on the other. The beautiful rock-covered rolling hills inter-mix with dry river beds. We are just waiting for the camel train to complete our Chinese desert experience. While the day was relatively short by our standards, the riders enjoyed coming in early, soaking up the bright sunshine and loving our wee desert camp. I think it is an area cleared for future road works but tonight it is our own little desert paradise and there is a nice desert sunset to complete the day plus some Chinese wine, beers, chocolate, tea and coffee. For the next few days…this is life!
