One day to go!!

“It is the day before we head out on this epic journey and the atmosphere at the hotel in Giza is pregnant with anticipation. The riders are all gearing up and the staff members have been busy getting everything ready for our embarkation. Daily bike clinics run by our wrench Mark are always packed as the riders have heard that he can take a seemingly fully functioning bike and turn it into a super machine. The medics have fastidiously inventoried the boxes and boxes of supplies that arrived on shiny new Indaba trucks a few days ago.

Yesterday the majority of riders took part in the ride to Abusar to work out any last kinks in their kit and get their legs prepared (slightly) for what lies ahead. While the resort we are staying at is lovely and the weather has been nothing short of transcendent it doesn’t seem like anyone is keen on staying here a minute longer than is scheduled, rather people are chomping at the bit to get on the road. The excitment of the long roads, desert camps and unique experiences far outweighs any trepidation. These next four months promise to be replete with great memories, not only of the countries we visit and the locals we meet but also of the people who have chosen to partake in this journey with us. A journey that few can imagine and even fewer can understand.”
