Flats

First day of real gravel – 14km from camp and my tires sank into the sand. Luckily I had my off road tires on. Then came the flats. There are these small thorns that stick to your tires and puncture your tubes. I came across one of the riders and he held out six of his fingers up – only six flats.

Yesterday felt like I was in a hot tub, inside a steam room, drinking hot coffee. Today was the same, only twice as hot. That’s what to expect riding in the deserts of the Sudan.
